1. I want to host my own domain name, what name servers should I use?
Our name servers are as follows: ns1.247ihost.com and ns2.247ihost.com

3. What is the maximum file size limit?
10mb

4. I did not recieve an activation email
Check your spam folder, if it is not there signup again using a service like gmail.

5. How do i connect to MYSQL?
To connect to mysql you must use the following details

database name = username_dbname
database user = username_dbuser
host = localhost
port = default
database password = dbpassword

NOTE: replace the values dbname, dbuser and dbpassword with their real values, you must have created this database and assigned privlidges, see the article above for more information on this.

6. How do i backup my database?
You can backup from your hosting control panel via phpmyadmin » export.

7. Does my free hosting plan have support for FrontPage Extentions?
Not currently on our free plans, but on our upgrade plans they have full support for this.

8. How do I connect using FTP?
We will have sent an email on signup with your ftp details (check your junk mail folder) however incase you didnt get it, the following information applies:

ftp hostname: username.247ihost.com
ftp username: username
ftp password: account password
ftp port: 21

9. Can I upload .htaccess files?
No, these do not work and are not allowed. We do however allow them on upgraded plans

10. What FTP software can you recommend?
We recommend FileZilla, which is a free open source FTP client.
